  • The aim of the conference is to provide a comprehensive overview on all topics in ophthalmic oncology. This is the first ever UK meeting providing the participant’s clear and concise information on best current practices in diagnosis, investigation and management of every type of cancer you could potentially encounter as an eye care practitioner. Day one will cover eyelid, orbital as well as paediatric tumours with talks from leading national experts. Day two will cover ocular surface and intraocular tumours with speakers from all 4 designated national ocular oncology centres. Topics such as genetics, histopathology, radiology, management of metastasis, breaking bad news will be covered by national and international experts in the field. A gala dinner is being organised the first day evening to celebrate the contribution of Professor Rennie to ocular oncology and ophthalmology. He established the Sheffield Ocular Oncology Service 32 years ago and has been a pioneering influence in developing ophthalmic oncology care in UK. The evening would be a perfect opportunity to unwind between two hard core days of knowledge. This 2-day comprehensive conference will be useful for trainees in Ophthalmology throughout the country. There will also be opportunity for trainees to give short oral presentations related to ocular oncology and win awards on both days. This conference would also be useful as an excellent refresher to established staff grade and consultant ophthalmologists and allied eye care practitioners and will gain you 13 CPD points. This conference is an ideal opportunity to learn from the vast experience of leading national and international experts to become confident in diagnosis and management of patients presenting with all types of ophthalmic cancers. We look forward to seeing you in Sheffield!

Mr Sachin M. Salvi President UKOO Consultant Ophthalmologist in Ocular Oncology, Oculoplastics and Orbital Surgery Sheffield Ocular Oncology Service
